Nursery Deputy Manager

My name is Taran and I’m the room-based deputy manager at Monkey Puzzle Uxbridge. I’m pleased to be given this opportunity as it allows me to lead the pre-school room (which I love doing) whilst being a part of management too.

I enjoy working with children and watching their personalities grow over time. I have a degree in Early Years Education. This has enabled me to better interoperate the Early Years framework and to implement this within the daily activities we carry out with the children.

My main aim is to support children in gaining independent skills and exploring their curiosity of the world around them. I support an active learning approach and encourage children to just “have a go”. I believe children should learn to respect one another and be open minded to others’ views and opinions. By the time children leave us to go to school, my aim is to work with them to be confident, polite and respectful individuals.

In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and travel when I can

• Level 2 award in Food safety for catering
• Level 6 - BA (HONS) Early years education
